my life (not-so-much) on camera

my camera is broken, so posts are going to be photo-free for a while. but that doesn't mean i still can't have fun, right? right.

because it's me, no blog would be complete without at least one music suggestion (or new obsession). this week? i have a few:

one of my sister's best friends burned a cd for her - lucky for me, it ended up in my car, and i've fallen in love with a few songs, namely "Arc of Time" by Bright Eyes, and "The Wanting Comes in Waves" by The Decemberists.

i also recently discovered more songs i love from a band I already love. If you've never heard of the duo known as the weepies, go look them up right now. they are AMAZING and i love them. my newest discovery of theirs is a song called old coyote. it makes me smile.

I found a quote on the Post Secret twitter today that made me think. It was RT from TWLOHA (an organization I already love): "If you knew you could reach every person in the world with one sentence, what would it be?"

I tried to think of what mine would be...i'm still not sure. it might only be three words: you. are. loved.

I was looking through old pictures and found this one of my puppy. His name is Gus (after the mouse in Cinderella). Isn't he cute?

Grey's Anatomy never ceases to fail me on my quest for new and wonderful music. The past few episodes have revealed TWO new Ingrid Michaelson singles (LOVE her!), as well as multiple new artists to love and a wonderful new take on an old song. Here's the list.

Stay Over - The Rescues
Turn and Turn Again - All Thieves
Brand New - Emilie Mover
Turn to Stone - Ingrid Michaelson
First In Line - Matthew Mayfield
All Love - Ingrid Michaelson
Charmed Life - Joy Williams
The Battle - Missy Higgins
Where the Road Meets the Sun - Katie Herzig & Matthew Perryman Jones
Off I Go - Greg Laswell
Flashdance...What A Feeling - Hollywood, Mon Amour (Yael Naim)

So there you go - go crazy!

Peace and Love.

Photographic Update

So I've decided that since this is a new blog, I'm going to upload some of my favorite older photos, but from then on, it's going to be new photos. Living in the present and all that...you know. I've also decided that sometimes, this blog is going to contain fun quotes or songs I'm loving in addition to photography...I think it'll add some spice.

So here are some of my favorite photographs from the last few months.

We'll start back in February, with Mission Honduras
This is Kelvin, and his mother Priscilla. Her family is so beautiful.

These are some of the other kids in the mother's project. From left to right: Isac, Cece, and Kelvin (Cece & Kelvin are siblings).

This is Lisi, one of the other girls from the mother's project. She's beautiful, isn't she?

There are about a million more amazing pictures from Honduras, but these are probably my absolute favorites.

Moving on...
March
These are from the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC.
Apparently, cherry trees can be dangerous!

(I'm in love with this picture.)

Daffodils make me happy. :)

On to April...

This is one of my best friends, LJ. We were "doing homework" outside the Basilica in Mary's Garden on Palm Sunday...we were all dressed up from mass, and homework soon turned into a photoshoot. These are some of my favorites from that day.

Here's LJ again on the same day, with our friend Deirdre. They both have the most beautiful eyes. See?

These last pictures are from two weeks ago - I was at home for my sister's confirmation. Mommy and I went to the Meriden Daffodil Festival (which I had no idea even existed!). It was glorious!

Like I said, daffodils make me happy.

These are flowers that we found on a tree there - they look a bit like cherry blossoms, but more pink. I love them!

So now you're updated on my most recent photographic endeavors. Yay!

"One good thing about music, when it hits you you feel no pain."
-Bob Marley

I'll leave you with that.
Peace and love. :)

HOLA AMIGOS!!

Hey!

I've created this blog as a place to post pictures, partly because my facebook profile has 94 photo albums, and partly because I wanted to be able to share my photos with everyone (even you slackers without facebook). Photography is something I've loved for a long time, although I just recently started sharing my photos. Most of my shots are of nature - God creates the most beautiful things, and I love trying to capture that beauty on film!

I'll start uploading photos soon - school's almost over, so I should start to have time again!

Peace and love!

:)
